The Institute of Maritime & Business Management (IMBM) was established in November 2009.
The IMBM Board of Directors and shareholders collectively have more than six decades of business experience in the fields of port and terminal management, container leasing, trading and education and training. The Board fully supports innovative teaching/lecture methods and tutorials to enable students to grasp essentials of a subject in an effectively and clear manner and understand its practical application either in work or everyday situations.

Management of IMBM
Mr Christopher C Shanmugam is the Managing Director of the Institute overseeing operations of the Institute and CPE compliance issues. Together with the Academic Board he is also responsible for the recruitment of lecturers/teachers. He has been associated with maritime and logistics education for the past 50 years besides his consultancy business.
Miss Janice Mong is the alternative Director of the Institute and has been with the Institute since its establishment. She has been in the private education sector for almost 3 decades.
